Build It! 6-8 Fall 2026

Build It! 6-8 is a semester long club created to encourage kids in 6th-8th grades to explore physics, math, and the engineering process through building. Activities are tailored for this age group and are designed to not only further develop STEM skills, but problem solving, team work, innovation, iteration and communication skills as well. Students can sign up for both semesters each year or pick and choose what works best for them. The activities will be different each semester, so there will always be something new to do! No previous experience is required. The only thing you need to bring is a love of building!

Build It! Clubs are led by mentors using curriculum developed by Broomfield STEM staff and volunteers. If you are interested in mentoring a Build It! Club, please check out our mentor page.

We believe all students can thrive in STEM, and we strongly encourage girls, students of color, students who are neuro-diverse, and students who are still learning English to join our teams. All are welcome!

Time commitment for Build It! 6-8 Fall 2026:

Team meetings every Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 September 16 to December 9, 2026

PLEASE NOTE: We believe that consistency is an important part of learning and building relationships, so we expect our students to attend regularly and participate fully. While we are flexible in attendance so that our members can prioritize their health, education, and family, we ask that if your student and family cannot commit to attending at least 75% (9/12) of the meetings, you discuss this with us prior to joining the club.
